What is Original Sound Track?

A soundtrack is recorded music accompanying and synchronized to the images of a motion picture, drama, book, television program, radio program, or video game; a commercially released soundtrack album

In a movie industry usage, a sound track is a audio recording created/used in film production or film-production.

The phrase OST is often used to describe the musical soundtrack on a recorded medium, such as CD (compact disc), and stands for Original SoundTrack 

Types of recording:

1. Musical film

a genre which songs by characters are blend together into a narrative

example: The Greatest Showman



2.Film score

a specific film to guide and enhance the emotion and mood
example: wizard of Oz

For movies that contain both orchestral film scores and pop songs, both types of music.
example: the last of us
